Upgraded Strawberry Banana Smoothie

December 22, 2014 By Dr. Mike 1 Comment

Strawberry and Banana smoothies are one of the more classic shake flavor combinations right up there with chocolate and peanut butter. Here is a slight spin on this long time favorite with the kicked up nutrition of kefir, chia seeds, and walnuts. Enjoy!

Servings: 1

Instructions: Add the ingredients to your blender jar (I’m using a Blendtec blender) in the order shown above (moving from the top down the list). Blend until smooth (On the Blendtec just hit the smoothie button).

Notes: Frozen strawberries are so icy due to their water content you don’t need to add ice. If you want a thinner shake then either add some additional water or use a pure whey protein powder and not a whey/casein blend like Metabolic Drive.

Disclosure: Blendtec sent me this blender to try out. After using it for a bit, I shipped my parents my Vitamix Blender to have as I wasn’t going to stop using the Blendtec – that’s saying something about how this blender stacks up.
