I’ve been very fortunate to have incredible mentors, colleagues, and clients to learn from over the years – I want to share with you these lessons and help you apply them to your life so that through good health, you can achieve everything you want in life.
Dr. Mike holds a degree in biochemistry from Hobart College and a doctorate in nutrition from Pennsylvania State University. His work in science gas ranged from organic synthesis of potential anti-cancer compound to nutritional clinical trials aimed at reducing risk of cardiometabolic disease. His research has been published multiple times in the premiere clinical nutrition journal in the world, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
With a keen focus on evidence based nutrition and food logistics, for the last decade Dr. Mike has been called in to solve health, wellness, and performance problems for some of world class athletes, Hollywood stars/celebrities, and Silicon Valley executives.
With a keen eye for understanding human behavior and a staunch belief in evidence-based interventions Dr. Mike regularly consults with organizations looking to develop nutrition/fitness research initiatives that will generate scientifically relevant and marketable messages. Then moving from the clinical to communications side he develops programs and content that triangulate key product messaging, scientific validity, and the user’s health interests/motivations. Dr. Roussell also serves on the advisory board for Men’s Health.
Dr. Mike’s unique approach to scientifically derived, yet practical nutrition, has made him a well-known expert contributor to both national print publications and leading online news outlets. This has lead to him publishing over 600 articles on health and nutrition (including colmens for both Men’s Health and Shape Magazines) and appearing in over 200 TV segments as a nutrition expert, while also servings as the consulting nutritionist for 5 books. Dr. Mike has also authored 5 books, including his most recent two books – The MetaShred Diet and Strength: The Field Manual. Dr. Mike is also a sought after continuing educator, speaking across the country to physicians, dietitians, nurses, and other health professionals on the most recent advances in the nutritional treatments for cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, and weight .
