Burn Fat while sitting at your desk!

Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could burn fat while sitting at your desk or while lying around watching TV? Wouldn’t it be great if that were true?

Well, it is true.

The problem is that most people do not know how to train the correct way to make this happen. Most people will continue to do long, slow cardio exercise in hopes that the fat will burn off.

Most people will spend 30-60 minutes doing the treadmill or elliptical, while burning some fat off thinking this is the best way to drop those pounds.

So, just how do you train in a way where you can burn fat while sitting around, doing next to nothing? Great question.

Resistance Training

I have touched on this before…you have to add resistance or weight training to your program. Without hashing this out too much again, remember that weight training will do many positive things for fat burning. For one, muscle keeps your metabolism going. The more of it you have, the more it will burn. This can and will happen throughout the day, while you are sitting around. If your weight program is intense enough, it will cause an “after burn” effect to occur. Basically, your body is trying to deal with the stress that you just placed on it with your resistance training. This again, causes your metabolism to soar, even when you are not working.

HIIT

HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. HIIT is a form of conditioning that athletes have used for years to prepare for their sports. Over the last few years, people have realized that this kind of training is superior for fat loss. HIIT will cause a post exercise effect that again, will cause your body to work overtime just to deal with the stress that it just went through. The cool thing about HIIT is that you only need to do it for about 7-10 minutes and then you are done. No more 30-60 minute cardio sessions. Remember, if you want to burn fat and burn it fast, you need to be using everything you can to your advantage. Resistance training and HIIT are two ways you can super speed your way to fat loss. The best part is, when done correctly, you will be burning fat all day long.
